The Gospel Does Change Everything by Beth

There is a beautiful song that One Purpose has learned and we sing entitled, “The Gospel Changes Everything.” Here are some of the lyrics:

“The gospel changes everything -the turning point in history.  And even now it’s changing me from who I was. The story of my Savior calls me to the wonder of the cross. The gospel changes everything. And it is changing me. You saved my soul – by your blood. And I’m undone by Your great love. You made a way – so I could come. Just as I am – to You my God.”

As a believer, we should remind ourselves of the gospel of Jesus Christ every day. To think that even when we were dead in our sin, according to Ephesians 2:1, Christ died for us! “Even when we were dead in our sin He made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved).

So let me remind us of the gospel of Jesus Christ according to the book of Romans. A book spoken by God and written by Paul.

Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 3:10-18, “as it is written, ‘THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE; THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS, THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS FOR GOD; ALL HAVE TURNED ASIDE, TOGETHER THEY HAVE BECOME USELESS; THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD, THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE. THEIR THROAT IS AN OPEN GRAVE, WITH THEIR TONGUES THEY KEEP DECEIVING, THE POISON OF ASPS IS UNDER THEIR LIPS; WHOSE MOUTH IS FULL OF CURSING AND BITTERNESS. THERE FEET ARE SWIFT TO SHED BLOOD, DESTRUCTION AND MISERY ARE IN THEIR PATHS, AND THE PATH OF PEACE THEY HAVE NOT KNOWN. THERE IS NO FEAR OF GOD BEFORE THEIR EYES.”  This friends, is a detailed picture of what our sin looks like!

Romans 6:23, “for the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrated His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 10:9, “…if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Romans 5:1, “Therefore having been justified by faith we have peace with God through the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Romans 8:1, “Therefore there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

The Lord found me and saved me in my sin around the age of 12. He sought me, found me, and rescued me. I am so thankful. I was saved, I am being saved, and I will be saved for all eternity. Praise the Lord! Let me say, it is a daily surrender to walk in obedience to the gospel of Jesus Christ. My life is not the same today. I have been given a new heart! A regenerated heart! I once was dead and now I am alive in Christ, and “He has raised me up with Him, and seated me with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
